Netscape to PMMail The following is a multi stepped process to migrate messages from Netscape 4.x to PMMail 2000. Migrating from Netscape to PMMail requires a few additional steps. Step 1 - DO THIS PART ONLY ONCE 1. In PMMail choose what account you want to move the messages to and create a folder in that account called 'Migrated' 2. In that account Create a filter theat is 'manual' and searches 'attachment names' for "txt". Then for actions choose 'Save Attachments to Directory' and give it the filepath to folder 'Migrated' that you created in the step above. - DO THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS FOR EACH FOLDER IN NETSCAPE YOU MOVE - Netscape 1. Open Netscape Messenger and tell it you are going to work 'offline' (File-->Work Offline) 2. Select all the messages in a folder you want to move and select 'Forward as attachment' 3. Enter the address and hit send. Since you are working 'offline' the messages will not be sent. 4. Go to the Unsent messages folder and open the message. Click 'Save as' and browse until you find the 'Migrated' folder you created earlier inside of PMMail. For file type select '*.*' then name the save file '*.msg' (for example netscape.msg ). Click OK. 5. Delete the message from Netscape's unsent folder. PMMail 1. In PMMail go to the Migrated folder and Re-index the folder. The migrated message should now show up. 2. Right click on the message and select "Apply manual filter". Choose the name of the filter you created earlier in step 1. In Windows Explorer 1. Browse to the Migrated folder 2. All the *.txt files will need to be converted to *.msg files You may do this from the DOS command-line or by writing a batch file. (If needed, you can get the batch file from us*) 3. Then go back to PMMail and re-index the Migrated folder. * To get the batch file from us, send a message to support@blueprintsoftwareworks.com and have the subject be "msg.bat" (no quotes). You will then receive a message with the file.
